Established in 1977, Community Commons is dedicated to building a sustainable future for the Frederick region's social and natural resources through education, outreach and partnership building. "CAFPROC" is a non-profit organization which works 1) to preserve and restore quality of life for all citizens of Frederick County, with emphasis on those impacted by landfill and other solid waste management operations; 2) to apply an adequate standard of public safety equally to all citizens of Frederick County; 3) to promote fiscally and environmentally sound public policy decisions regarding solid waste management in Frederick County; 4) to educate the community about the hazards of the proposed vertical expansion, and; 5) to encourage well-researched, long-term solutions to solid waste management in the county, rather than inadequate quick fixes.Frederick County Landmarks Foundation
The mission of Frederick County Landmarks Foundation Inc. is to actively pursue the preservation of historic sites, structures, natural landmarks and communities of Frederick County, Maryland and to increase knowledge and appreciation of all of the above.
